Trust Is The Glue That Holds Us Together
72
Does money make the world go round?
Will centrifugal force,
Survive the banksters' money-go-round,
And keep the world on course?
Will trees stop growing fruit and nuts?
Will soil stop giving up grain?
Will 'we the people' move our butts,
When they commandeer the rain?
Will birds stop singing and laying eggs,
Or the young stop falling in love?
Will this debt on our heads (like chains on our legs),
Placate the beast enough?
Of all they stole, that left us cold,
That left us broke'n'bust,
Of all the losses that unfold,
The greatest loss was trust.
Trust is the glue that holds us together,
That's our greatest strength,
It makes the mould that is our future,
Happiness and wealth.
We build our children's teeth and bones,
To raise them strong and tall.
Yet knowing they won't walk alone,
Is their greatest strength of all.
Knowing how to interact,
Is how the children thrive,
Knowing how to give and take,
Might help them stay alive.
Some would share their dying breath,
Others would loan it just -
To then extort - with interest.
How do we trust - while trussed?
Trust is the is the glue that holds us together,
As we challenge the unjust.
Whose greatest fear is people-power:
Empathy - and trust.
"Render therefore unto Caesar"
He got one thing right for sure,
He said, "Divide and conquer",
But united we're secure!
For those who unite, will prevail,
Division is our ruin,
And as for those ‘too big to fail',
That’s screwin' - that's not gluin'.
Trust is the glue that holds us together;
Cheat - and we come undone,
So he who cheats a sister or brother,
Is cheating everyone.
The more we give, the more we receive,
The more we open our hearts.
The more we steal, the more we deceive,
The more we're riven apart.

Amillar I have no idea how I missed this, and I think amillar is more like me than he would want to admit, so true and well written I have never heard a sermon that said more or touched me deeper and the song as a finale would bring tears if I would allow it.
I remember the song from my youth (that accent was a real turn on for a country girl) but it was the icing for the cake here and I didn't mean you are as good as me..ha ha..(I mean that was not what I was saying) it was just something you had said early on making me think you weren't a good guy but I could always see you were and now I am sure.
I have often written about or quoted the great South African saying "umntu ngumuntu ngabantu" - a person is a person through other people. When we damage or hurt someone we are damaging or hurting ourselves. But somehow we just don't seem to get it.
I just love this poem, perhaps especially these words: "So he who cheats a sister or brother, / Is cheating everyone."
Had to jump all over the buttons on this one, my friend!
Love and peace
Tony
Encore! Encore! Incredible! Buttons up! "Will this debt on our heads (like chains on our legs),Placate the beast enough?" "So he who cheats a sister or brother,
Is cheating everyone." This world will cheat you until you're dead. The capitalistic system is nothing more than a pyramid scheme. Capitalism is for the top 1%. It's okay to screw your business rival. Everything is fair. In love, war, and business - all is fair. Not according to God. There will be a reckoning one day and I think God I could never be in that 1%. God bless!
I enjoyed the poem - and especially the sentiment behind it. It has echoes of that classic that beings "No man is an island" by John Donne.
(I've voted this up).
Great poem and touching pictures, amillar. I also like what you said to Tony. Let us not be divided and conquered!
You write with words of great wisdom.
Well said, amillar! Voted up across the board. In His Love, Faith Reaper
